Under 10 successful rugby tour to Yorkshire

Eleven boys accompanied by Mr Savill and Mr Murdoch left Cargilfield on Friday afternoon and headed south to Yorkshire with a sense of confidence and excitement for some more winning rugby. Our first fixture was against St Mary’s Hall, Stoneyhurst and after a shaky start, the boys settled into the game and began to use what strength and power they had up front to dominate the game. It was terrific to see the boys work hard at getting the ball out wide at every opportunity and allow the likes of centres Freddy and Ben run without fear at the SMH defence. The final score was 45-10. Next on the agenda was a visit to Ilkley RFC for a triangular fixture, where the boys played some terrific, free-flowing rugby much admired by the home support. As Captain of the tour, Ben Macleod led his team from the front, was calm under pressure and demonstrated his never-say-die attitude, but credit must go to all the boys who not only displayed such attacking rugby throughout, but were superb ambassadors for the school.
