Putting on a performance together is enormous fun and a powerful team-building exercise. There is an impressive school stage for the many performances we put on during the year.

Drama at Cargilfield is for everybody. In addition to six or seven year group plays each year, the drama group works throughout the year to create its own work.

Enthusiastic actors will work as part of a Scholarship drama group in their last two years.

During the last few years the school productions have included Mama Mia, The Wizard of Oz, Dragons Live Forever and Oliver.

There is also a well-established culture of learning and reciting poetry in the school. Poetry recitals and presentations involve every pupil form Form 4 to Form 8 every year.

Throughout the Pre-Prep, children are taught to give presentations to their class. These skills are further developed by taking the English Speaking Board examinations in Forms 5 & 7.

Although we aim to produce drama that will entertain our audiences, our priority is to involve all those pupils who are keen. The process is more important than the final performance.
