Achievements

Cargilfield is a leading, modern prep school and we pride ourselves on providing a genuinely well-rounded education. There are many opportunities for our boys and girls to excel academically as well as in sports and extra-curricular activities.

Our children have an outstanding record of winning scholarships to public schools and consistently do well at Common Entrance. We are particularly strong in French, Latin and Greek, and have invested heavily in I.C.T. From 8 years upwards, boys and girls play sport every day, so it is not surprising that our teams regularly win matches in rugby, netball, hockey, cricket, rounders and tennis.

There are also lots of exciting opportunities to compete in football, golf, sailing, climbing, archery, skiing, fencing and judo. Our children also enjoy performing in plays, singing and playing musical instruments.

Our children are well prepared when they sit their Common Entrance exams at the end of Form 8. Results have been good for many years with nearly all children gaining places at their first choice public school, where Cargundians are always valued.

Parents and their children are given guidance on choosing the right public school, whether it is in Scotland or England. Popular destinations range from Loretto, Glenalmond and Kilgraston, to Sedburgh, Oundle and Eton.
