Cargilfield: Scotland's First Prep School

Cargilfield aims to keep fees in line with the market, but to offer added value at all times. Help with school fees is available through our Bursaries scheme which can offer up to 100% discounts. We offer concessions for Armed Forces children.

School fees for 2011/2012

Upper School (8 to 13 years)

Two-Weekly boarders: £5,620 per term

Weekly boarders: £5,410 per term

Upper School fees include all meals and text books; there are no compulsory extras and parents receive notice of all additional costs.

Day pupils:

Forms 5 and above: £4,370 per term

Forms 4: £4,050per term

Pre-Prep (5 to 8 years)

Primary 1, 2, 3: £2,750 per term

Nursery (3 to 5 years)

Mornings (without lunch): £1,560 per term

Mornings (with lunch): £1,612 per term

Afternoons (with lunch): £1,612 per term

All day (with lunch): £2,750 per term

Occasional afternoons (by arrangement): £45

Additional charges

Early Bird Club: £5.00 per session

After School Club: £10.00 per session

Flexi-boarding: £32 per night

Weekend boarding for day children and weekly-boarders: £32 per night

Fee concessions are available as follows (excluding Nursery)

Second Child (Day pupil): 5%

Second Child (Boarding): 10%

Third Child: 35%

Fourth Child: 50%

Boarding Children of Serving Service Personnel: 15%

Please note that only one concession is available for each child.

Fee concessions neither apply to children in the Nursery nor to any additional charges.

The school tries at all times to keep the cost of education at Cargilfield as low as possible; we also have a second-hand uniform shop and some of our trips are subsidised by the school. Parents should also note that in addition to some Bursary support (see relevant information on Bursaries) there are various Educational Trust Funds which can help in cases of need.

Pre-Payment of fees

The school also offers a plan for payment of fees for either part or all of the child’s education at Cargilfield; once again details are available from the school office. Any comments or requests for further financial information should be addressed to the Headmaster.

Terms and Conditions

A full term’s notice is required if withdrawing a child.
