Arts & Sport

Although the main thrust of Cargilfield will always be in the classroom and our ambition is to support every child in his or her quest to gain the best possible grades, we are proud of our approach to the Arts and Sport.

All aspects of Art - pure art, design, ICT, music and drama - and so many different sports are part and parcel of a Cargilfield life. All boys and girls can be in a play each year; nearly all boys and girls play a musical instrument and so many of them are in musical groups.

We try to ensure that every child is in a team at some stage during the year and these teams go beyond the main team sports, taking in fencing, climbing, cross country and skiing for example. The teachers of Cargilfield support this tremendous programme outside the academic class and children respond in a positive and happy way to what is on offer at the school.

On the games front, Cargilfield has been very successful during the last year: finalists in the National Under 11 Hockey down at Bristol and various teams are undefeated in different sports. What we try to do, is to get everybody to play in a team for the school at some stage during the year.
