The last “All In” weekend was a real success, enjoyed by everyone involved. It was a very happy weekend with the children all helping each other and playing together incredibly well throughout the different activities and events going on.
Rory and Will set off with Mr Taylor on Saturday with their bikes and had a fabulous day of biking around the Almond Glen and visiting Lawers House near Comrie which was where Cargilfield evacuated to during WW2. It really was fascinating.
Meanwhile, all the other children were taken to Murrayfield Ice Rink for the family skating session and it was great to see everyone on the ice. The stronger skaters helped the newcomers to ice and it was impressive to see how fast the children improved just over a couple of hours.
After lunch and some games in the sports hall or bracelet making with Heather, we made our way to the cinema in Ocean’s Terminal to watch Despicable Me 3, which was great fun!
Sunday was an action-packed day with a trip up to Coatbridge to do some swimming at Time Capsule in the morning followed by ten-pin bowling in the afternoon where Mr Gray surprised us all with a hatrick of strikes!
With children from different ages and classes, “All In” weekends are a wonderful opportunity for the children to make friends and get to know older/younger girls and boys that they may not see much during a normal school day. It helps bring our school together as a community and to make it the special, happy place that it is.
