Wonderful P3 production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

On Tuesday and Thursday of this week, the Chapel was once again transformed into a theatre.  This time the P3s took to the stage in their version of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  The performance was full of colour and fun and all the hard work of the P3s was certainly evident, from the impressive backdrop and the imaginative costumes, to the superb delivery of the lines by all children involved.  The young actors and actresses transported the audience all the way from the Buckets’ shabby house to Willy Wonka’s fantastic factory.

The play was narrated fantastically and each child portrayed their character with imagination and a lot of humour.  Augustus Gloop played by Robbie Bald certainly drew many laughs as did the first appearance of the Oopma-Loompas in their secret white and pink spotty costumes! Louis Kenmore and Ilaria Leckie portrayed the wacky and wonderful ways of Mr Willy Wonka and impressed the audience with the fun and imagination they brought to the role.  Katie McNutt shone the whole way through the performance as the loveable and humble Charlie Bucket.  The overall  talent and energy of the P3s really was outstanding and the input of Mrs Corbett and Mrs Spencer was evident from the minute the curtain opened.  What a wonderful way to spend a Thursday afternoon. Well done P3!
