Cargilfield retained the Strath Sixes Trophy will a well earned victory over Craigclowan in the final with goals from Lorne Milne x 2 and Fergus Skinner.
The day started with 4 pool games which resulted in 2 wins and 2 draws, we missed out on the opportunity of topping the group by drawing with Craigclowan although we got our revenge later in the day. Fergus Barne and Harry Moir played extremely well in defence along with Andrew O’Neil and only conceded 2 goals in seven matches. Going forward George Stanistreet, Fergus Skinner and Lorne Milne worked tirelessly and played some superb hockey throughout the day. Freddie Linzee Gordon scored a vital goal against Ardvreck to secure victory and in doing so became the youngest player to score for the 1st XI, Magnus Chaplin gain valuable experience in defence and attack and the two U11 performed admirably in their debut for the 1st XI. Lorne Milne received player of the tournament for his crucial goals and strong work ethic. Overall the team delivered when it counted and it is a positive sign that they can defend resolutely when under pressure.
