Once again the leavers went down to the Lake District for 7 days of climbing, canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing, gorge scrambling, sailing and raft-building, but it also included cooking breakfast and supper; washing up everything; tidying the camp; pitching tents, looking after each other and the staff; spending time in Keswick and relaxing playing soccer, rounders, cricket and anything from chatting in the sunshine to hiding from the midgies late in the evening.
The trip up Scafell Pike was one of the most lovely days: beautiful sunshine; a little zephyr of wind and views over to the Isle of Man. This was an absolute treat and all the boys and girls did very well to reach the top anda total journey taking 6 ½ hours of quite heavy work, but it did end swimming in the pools at the bottom.
