P2 visited Cammo Estate last week. We met up with the Ranger David who was our guide for the morning. We walked up to the area we were going to investigate and tried to listen out for birds and catch sight of anything that moved. We did not see much. When we got to a woodland habitat we divided into groups and hunted for mini beasts. We were given pots with magnifying lenses on the lid to collect the creatures in. We looked under logs, under rocks, amongst the leaves and under bushes to see what we could find. There were snails which were a different type from garden snails, slugs, spiders, centipedes and all sorts of bugs. After looking for animals we stayed in our groups and made a den for the Ranger’s toy tiger. We used leaves, bark and anything else we could find and tried to make it water proof, warm and camouflaged. We had a fantastic time and learned a lot about the Scottish woodland habitat.
