This week in Primary 1 we have been learning about how people survive in cold weather as part of our topic on ‘My World in Winter’. We have been talking about inuit people and how they are able to live in the arctic. We have been learning about some of the things the inuit do to survive i.e building igloos and using animal fur for clothes. The children watched clips of an inuk and his son building an igloo. We then worked in pairs to design our own igloo which we discussed as a class before having a go at building our own out of empty plastic milk bottles! We are really pleased with the start we have made but building continues…
Further updates as the igloo begins to take shape!
