Hockey

Hockey is a key sport at Cargilfield played by both girls and boys. Hockey is played mostly during the Spring Term.

Hockey

Hockey is our main sport for boys and girls in the Spring Term. Children from age 7 learn this popular sport and we boast huge success across the board.

Teams play weekly matches against other schools at all age groups (U9, U10, U11, U12 and U13) and we play both indoors and on our astro’s.  We also hire the national hockey pitch, Peffermill, for full sided matches.  We encourage all children to play both in and out of school and have a close connection with Grange Hockey Club – one of Scotland’s leading hockey clubs.  Many of our children go on to represent both district and national teams and we are very proud of our high achievement in this sport.

We regularly tour to England for hockey matches and tournaments with both the boys’ and the girls’ teams.  This year both the U13 boys and U11 boys won the Scottish Prep Schools Championship and went down south to play in the National Finals.  Both teams performed exceptionally well against the best teams from all over the country.
