P2 celebrate Burns

P2 celebrate Burns

Lots of Scottish fun!

This week P2 were busy making preparations for Burns night. ‘Tatties’  and ‘neeps’ were peeled and mashed, raspberries were sieved and cream whipped as delicious pots of ‘cranachan’ were prepared. The Selkirk Grace was recited at the meal table and kilts were worn as some of us danced some reels.

We are continuing to learn about Scotland and its location in the world, and this week enjoyed fitting together different sized boxes, bags and envelopes to visually see how the world is made up of continents, how the continents are made up of countries and how the countries are made up of cities.  Phew, P2 – that was a lot to piece together!

We also practised our -y spellings this week using things around the house, and painted pictures of Munros, Corbetts and Grahams.  We have now set ourselves a stair climbing challenge to see how high we can climb.  Can we climb the height of the Queensferry Crossing or maybe even climb to the summit of Ben Nevis? Good luck, P2!
