A wonderful talk from children’s author Abi Elphinstone this morning with a great message to our children: look up and see what is around you and never be afraid to fail. Inspiring stuff! #cargilfieldconnected

Her story is a remarkable, her journey from being dyslexic, to becoming a hugely successful children's author having been rejected 70 odd times by publishers before finally getting her break and then selling millions of copies with her books in high demand and perhaps about to be made in to films. A great learning lesson for our children, and her books are terrific too!. Abi has visited Cargilfield on a couple of occasions but this time, she spoke to us remotely and Forms 5 and 6 enjoyed a wonderfully inspiring talk from her, about her inspirations for writing her various books and some great advice to our children about following their dreams and never to give up.
