More U11 Girls' Cricket v Mary Erskine's!

Lots of fun and learning!

In blustery, chilly conditions, the girls weren’t put off by the weather and they enjoyed a really fun and exciting game of soft ball cricket against the welcoming girls of Mary Erskine. Both teams showed a lot of promise and, most importantly, enjoyment of the sport and a good afternoon was had by all. The Mary Erskine girls batted first and managed to hit some good shots. The bowling from Cargilfield was accurate and a few wickets were taken. Catch of the day from Julia who took a high ball that looked like it may go right over her head but she managed to reach just high enough for it. After their two overs each pair, the Mary Erskine girls hit 13 runs. The Cargilfield innings didn’t start that well as Sav and Julia were out for both of the first two balls. They recovered well though and hit some good shots. Lucy and Izzy managed to pile on a lot of runs, both hitting some strong boundaries. Beth and Anne also looked very strong with the bat. Hattie and Rowan did very well and their communication really improved over the game. Jess and Natasha batted well together, hitting some good shots and not giving away any wickets. After their two overs each, the Cargilfield girls managed to score 49 runs.
