The Form 6 girls finished off a very short season in fine form today with a comprehensive win over Belhaven. Scarlett captained the team today and we started the match by batting first. We had a good warm up and the girls were switched on and ready to go.
There was really no stopping this group of girls today; all of the girls ran hard to get to post 2, and hardly any stopped at post 1. The half rounders came flying in and the girls were hard to field against. Izzy and Lucy were our top scorers in this innings with 3 a piece and Jess ended the innings on 2 ½ and Julia on 2. The Belhaven girls struggled to score against our tight fielding; our catching was good today with Savannah catching 2 girls out on balls 3 and 14, and Lucy dominated post 2, stumping it quickly and accurately. It was very much a team effort with all girls playing their part and keeping the Belhaven girls a bay.

Another strong innings followed from our girls, and they were really flying high. Every single member of the team added to the score sheet, with top scoring again going to Izzy (3 ½) followed closely by Jess and Lucy both on 2. The attacking nature of the girls in bat played a huge part in our win today, and it was so lovely to see them play with such confidence. The Belhaven girls had a bit of a mountain to climb however they stuck in and came back in to the match a little in the latter stages of the game. Catches from Savannah and Lucy put 2 players out and once again, our general tight fielding kept the Belhaven girls to 6 ½. Julia ran particularly well round the posts in this innings, hungry to score and quick between the posts.
