U13B Hockey drew with Loretto U13A

A great game, despite no goals!

U13B Hockey beat Ardvreck

U13B Hockey drew with Loretto U13A

Undoubtedly the most challenging match of the term thus far.

The 2nd team started comfortably against an Ardvreck that had already suffered a comprehensive defeat against Loretto and so, although they held out for a while, the Cargilfield goals soon started to pour in. Scarlett dominated the midfield and scored at least twice while Amalia was also prolific in front of goal. A final score of 5-1 emphasised our superiority.

The second match, however, was always going to be more challenging and the Cargilfield girls really had to raise their game and battle. The Loretto 1st team contained a number of very skillful players but the general athleticism of the Cargilfield team kept us in the game. Amenah and Sophia were extremely strong in defence but Natasha had to make a series of repeat saves to keep the Loretto strikers at bay.

As the game went on, Cargilfield found their feet and Tunrayo, Scarlett and Jess started to dominate the midfield, prepared to run from box to box. Annika was a skillful attacker and led her side well while Tessa and Julia came on to bolster the team and help us hold out for a 0-0 draw.

The toughest but also the best game of the season so far. With the A team away at the IAPS qualifiers, this team thoroughly deserved their billing as the senior team at home.
