Armistice Day

Armistice Day

We stood in silence to remember

On Armistice Day, just before 11 o'clock, the Upper School came together in Ash Court to remember the 190 former pupils of Cargilfield who died in both World Wars and who made the ultimate sacrifice. We had some prayers, the Form 7 choir sang beautifully and Chay played The Last Post before we stood in respectful silence for two minutes to remember. After the Reveille, Xander brought proceedings to a close by performing Flowers of the Forest on his pipes.Tomorrow, we have our annual Service of Remembrance in Chapel, and we welcome General Alastair Bruce, Governor of Edinburgh Castle, to preach to the children and staff.

“When you go Home, tell them of us and say, For your Tomorrow, we gave our Today”
