It was wonderful to have the Upper School and staff back in Chapel together this morning for our annual Service of Remembrance which took place this today.
We had the honour of welcoming General Alastair Bruce, Governor of Edinburgh Castle and Royal commentator for Sky News, as our preacher and he spoke to us about the importance of remembering and his words really did connect with the congregation.
One fifth of the 190 former pupils who lost their lives in both World Wars was read out, we stood for two minutes’ silence and Chay played the Last Post and Reveille before the Form 8 Choir brought our service to an end. Afterwards, the Pipe Band performed in Ash Court and the General was full of praise for what had been a very moving morning of Remembrance.
You can watch the Service here.
