U11A Hockey lost to Fettes

A tough afternoon against a good side

We had a tough encounter with a visiting Fettes team who had a rather special player who dominated the game in both attack and defence. Whilst we played well as a team and tried to move the ball around, we struggled in the final third and weren't quite clinical enough in front of goal. It would be fair to say the score line didn't reflect the game in terms of possession and play. There were some great performances out there today: Wilfred worked his socks off in defence and played the ball nicely out wide from the back; Toby flourished on the right wing and is an exciting prospect and it was nice to see Harry back following missing the start of term through injury. We had a few chances to score with the best of them falling to Theo who produced a good save from their keeper.
Despite conceding a number of goals, I cannot fault the boys' effort and commitment. They worked hard and never gave up. Our Player of the match award was shared between Wilfred and Toby.
