U11C Hockey beat Fettes

An excellent game of hockey

The Under 11 C team made another promising early season showing with a strong performance against Fettes. Two goals in each half highlighted the team’s dominance and poor Hugh in goal didn’t touch the ball once in open play…there will be tougher matches.

George scored the first two goals – each strike showing his eye for the target and his readiness to capitalise on weaknesses in the Fettes defence. The second half saw Sasha really coming into his own and making some dynamic runs with the ball. He picked up on a moment’s hesitation in defence and slammed the ball just inside the far post.

The fourth goal was the play of the match with George taking a long corner and finding Leo (the only player to have pushed forward) with an inch perfect pass. Leo took the ball under close control and lifted a shot past the Fettes keeper.

Wolfie and Honour were very strong in defence (perhaps explaining why Hugh’s opportunities were limited) and Iain enjoyed captaining the side and grew in confidence as an attacker. Max’s touches were limited but his positional discipline contributed to the team’s success.

A strong team performance – well done, boys, on a 4-0 win.
