We welcomed our friends from the north to play a mix of our Under 11 A/B/Cs. It was a terrific first half with Ardvreck having the most shots on goal but Alexander L made some amazing stops. After they scored, we then began to start passing the ball better and finding chances. Maxi worked hard up and down the left and Senuka improved throughout the game through the middle of the pitch. George was brilliant with his determination and he stepped up to give us a deserved equaliser, right on half time.
In the second half, Hugh came in to to keep goal but we actually had more of the play in the opening minutes: Alexander A found some space on the right and put some teasing balls in but we just couldn’t hit the target. Ardvreck grew into the second half and as we pushed forward, they found some space in behind and were clinical in front of goal. Despite a few good saves from Hugh, the defence were a little apprehensive and this cost us. Dexter came on with 5 minutes to go and definitely helped stem the green tide and set up Mack who got our second with a fine strike.
Things to improve on a working back more, especially when we are guilty of giving the ball away and if we can be more accurate in front of goal, we will probably put some chances away.
The final score was 8-2 to the visitors but credit to the Cargilfield boys for keeping going. Our man of the match was captain Archie. He worked so hard for the team, covering most of the space on the pitch and was understandably out on his feet by the end!
