U10A Hockey beat Loretto

Goals galore!

U10A Hockey v Loretto

Win 0 - 8

Despite the cold and the wind, the U10As played well against Loretto. The match began tightly with both teams fighting it out to control possession. Nonetheless, the boys remained persistent and this paid off as smart passing up the pitch between Oliver and Theo enabled Toby to score the opening goal of the match. The boys gained momentum from the goal as they were quick to push up into the opposition’s half. This advance resulted in Oliver adding another goal to Cargilfield’s tally and the first half ended 0-2.

The break at halftime allowed the boys to reflect on the match and they began the second half keen to improve. The U10As played with more energy and they placed the opposition under greater pressure. This increased competitiveness made all the difference with Edward and James moving the ball quickly up the pitch. Loretto struggled to keep up with the pace of Cargilfield and soon Oliver, Theo, and Arthur all scored; a special mention goes to Theo for his hat-trick. The match ended with a convincing victory for the boys – well done!
