U10B Hockey beat Loretto

A convincing win and super hockey!

A bitterly cold afternoon over in Mussleburgh, but the Under 10B boys were eager for their clash against Loretto, played at St Peter's Primary School.  Right from the off, we dominated possession and I was impressed at how well the boys kept their shape with Oliver and Honour very secure in defence, Leo S and Sasha always busy in the midfield and then Jamie and Leo Sm running hard up front regularly threatening the Loretto goal.  We put together some good pieces of hockey, passing and moving the ball confidently in to space, supporting each other and looking to move the ball in to the wide channels.  We scored 6 goals, with Jamie scoring three of them, but what was most pleasing was our build up play and the way in which everyone kept working hard and did not allow Loretto any time in our own half.

There was some super skills on show, a willingness to use the ball rather than try to dribble too much and as a result, we put constant pressure on the Loretto defence and they struggled to cope with having to deal with so much pressure.

Very well played indeed, boys; an excellent team performance!
