Nursery have been learning about ‘Field to Fork’ this term and looking at our favourite foods and the food miles they gather.
We decided to make ice cream, one plant based and one from cream. The plant based one had ingredients that have travelled here from India, the one with cream came from Miss Nicol’s friends’ dairy/farm shop less than an hour away.
We all tasted the ice cream and used tally charts to find out which one was the best. We decided the cream one was the tastiest and in our opinion was better for the environment as it had travelled less food miles.
