U11A Cricket beat Strathallan

Some excellent performances with bat and ball

On a day where the weather truly couldn’t make up it’s mind our U11A boys took to the field to play Strathallan. With the weather in mind we agreed to play two 10 over matches to ensure all boys got a bat and a bowl. The first game saw Strathallan score 48 in their 10 overs. Notable bowling performances came from Edward (1-4) and Caspian (2-6), but there was excellent evidence of our improved concentration and energy in the field. After a methodical start by Harry and Maxi, Jamie and Caspian crashed the ball to all corners of the field to take the first game away from Strathallan.

The second game was very similar, with excellent ground fielding supporting accurate bowling to limit Strathallan to 47. Wilfred and Charles after a couple of lapses in concentration with their running put the team into a little bit of crisis. However, the ever reliable Caspian and Jamie scored freely again to take the side home. This was in addition to some fabulous late order hitting from Alexander, Dexter and Oliver.

Players of the match went to the F5 pair of Caspian and Jamie who over both games scored a partnership of 69* off 24 balls. Caspian finishing with 42* and Jamie 26*.

A super performance from the boys!
