As part of our Wednesday lecture programme, Mrs Clark came in to talk to us about her job as a paediatric surgeon. She explained all the training and schooling she had to do and the experiences she had when working in India and Australia. She also showed us how laborious a job it was getting "scrubbed up" into greens, ready to perform surgery. Miranda was our anaesthetist, Rufus was "the runner" and Bea was our surgeon. Alex, George and Theo were the assistants. Most importantly, Ewan did a great job as being the patient (it was the quietest we'd seen him!). Finally, Mrs Clark talked us through some of the different procedures that she sometimes comes across as a paediatric surgeon. It was incredibly fascinating so thank you!
