A brilliant and even battle was fought in the miserable rain this afternoon but spirits remained high and some brilliant hockey was played. Eleora had a fabulous game, she was in lovely space and being very good at communicating that. We had great skills from both Minty and Thandie driving forward with determination. Emilie and Esme were doing some great clearances in the D and often getting the ball to Polly, Isabelle and Isobel in the free space up the pitch.
At the end of the first 3rd, we decided to work on spacing out to the sides of the pitch because that’s where the space was. The team responded very well and clearly tried hard to work on this, and it showed in their performance. By the end of the match the girls were resilient through the driving rain and had a particularly amazing hit out finding a player at the top of the pitch and getting a shot on goal.
