U11B Rugby beat Dollar

Lots of fun in the wind and rain!

Under-11B Rugby vs Dollar (Home)

Won 8-4

The Under-11 boys hosted the Dollar teams for a rugby match on Wednesday in somewhat inclement weather conditions.

The rain, cold and wind couldn’t dampen the boys’ spirits though as they were excited for their first match after returning from the half-term holiday.

Dollar started strong and after utilising some excellent offloads in the tackle, they were able to secure their first try. Cargilfield responded almost immediately after some direct running. Cargilfield then scored the next two tries in similar fashion before Dollar responded. The score at half time was 4-2 in Cargilfield’s favour.

Our boys went from strength to strength in the second half, effecting turnovers through unrelenting pressure in defence, often first to seize upon loose balls. Penalties resulting from a couple of high tackles allowed Dollar to score a two more times in the second half but the Cargilfield boys managed to score another four tries.

The final score was 8-4. Well done to all the boys for a determined effort throughout the match, and thank-you to the parents who braved the elements to support the team from the touch-line.
