We were lucky with a nicer weather than we had for practice the day before. The girls took a couple of quarters to be really warmed up and into the game but after that, they were quick at moving the ball around the court and getting it to their shooters. As we had two subs, the girls got a chance to rotate positions for each quarter. For the first two quarters we had Bea Centre, Nadia GS and Tessa GA making our attack very strong with the help of Lyla, then Emilia on WA. There were more rotations with defense, except for Valentina who remained our GK most of the match and was catching every ball coming towards her. Along with Gabriella, Hattie and Savannah in WD and GD they did a good job in defending their goal. The opposition had a good team, who sped up the pace in the last quarter and put some pressure on our girls. It did have an effect as more mistakes were made by Cargilfield then, such as footwork or passing to the opponent. Overall, this was a good first game to open the netball season and the girl enjoyed it!
