U9 Netball beat Kilgraston

Very well played, girls!

Won 5-1

With a solid warm-up under our belt, we headed to our first positions of the quarter. Anastasia started in Centre and was feisty with the ball. With Georgia and Thandie in our shooting positions, we were in safe hands. Eleora and Izzy worked hard in defence, before the first whistle blew; Cargilfield had 2 goals to Kilgraston’s 1.

The second quarter saw Serena head into her first position of GA. Some excellent team work and fast passing meant that the ball was regularly at our end. Eleora was centre and accidentally found herself in the shooting circle (easily done when you are constantly rotating positions!) but it didn’t stop us from reclaiming the ball; both Anastasia, our GS, and Serena managed to score meaning the result at half time was 4-1.

Our third quarter was the toughest out of the four 6-minutes, with Kilgraston really stepping up their game. Neither team scored during this time but in the final quarter, the flow of Cargilfield’s game was astonishing; Thandie really stood out here. The pace and accuracy of passing was superb (and I lost count of the number of intercepts from Izzy and Eleora). Not only that, but Georgia scored a further goal, enabling us to walk away with a victory.

The improvement in these girls over the last 3 weeks has been fantastic and their level of communication between them during the game was focused and helpful; I’m still buzzing and I hope they are too. Very well done!
