U11 Girls’ Cricket beat Mary Erskine’s

Well played, girls!

On a cold and blustery day our U11 cricket team took the short trip across town to play ESMS. Captain Athena won the toss and elected to bat. Opening the batting she and Izzy put on a solid 14 off the first two overs. Tessa and Dulcie who had pestered the coach into batting together followed and to their credit proceeded to crash the ESMS attack to all parts. Dulcie finishing on 13* from 7 balls. Our powerful middle order followed with Scarlett, Bella, Miranda and Tunrayo all reaching double figures and setting ESMS 56 to win off their 10 overs.

Izzy opened the bowling and contained the ESMS openers nicely. She worked nicely in tandem with Nadia who squeezed the ESMS middle order conceding only 3 runs from her afternoon’s work. Scarlett and Bella came on to finish off the ESMS at the death and contributed to a narrow win for the Cargilfield outfit. A great afternoon of cricket and Bella and Scarlett deservedly shared the player of the match title for their powerful hitting, fielding and bowling. Well done girls!
