It was U10 v Loretto Rounders and it was perfect weather for it. It was a strong first inning of batting from Cargilfield, with some pretty hefty hits from Bea and Isla G. A solid 13 rounders scored in the first 30 good balls. Loretto took to the bats and there was some equally good hitting. Loretto had some speedy running but sometimes it backfired and they ran each other out! 9 rounders scored by Loretto and it was back to Cargilfield for our second inning. Loretto did some excellent fielding but again, some super shots meant that Cargilfield scored 15 rounders in the second set. With Loretto’s second team, our fielding stepped up a gear and despite some good hits from Loretto, Emilia’s quick catching and super teamwork from all the girls, Loretto managed 4 rounders. End result was a solid Cargilfield win: 28 rounders to 15; well done to all players!
