Last weekend, two groups of Form 7 and 8 pupils set off down to the Borders to spend the night in a bothy. We started with a 6.5km walk in to the bothy carrying all of our sleeping bags, food, and clothing, before setting up some tents and collecting water from the river for boiling before we could drink it. For dinner, the children helped to cook a delicious curry, and we then played some card games by candle-light before bed. In the morning, we had an early start, enjoyed some porridge and pancakes, and then walked back to the minibus.Very well done to all those involved - a new experience for many, and heavy bags/sore feet for all!
