Lecture: Mark Agnew

Former Pupil and European Adventurer of the Year

It was a pleasure to welcome back Former Pupil and European Adventurer of the Year, Mark Agnew, to Cargilfield this week. Former pupil Mark Agnew (1996-2004) and his team made history when they kayaked the Northwest Passage. They were the first to kayak the Arctic route and the first to complete it by human power, with no motors or sails.

His courage, grit and spirit of adventure came to life, making us feel as though we were riding the ice floats alongside him. Mark captured the children’s attention and there were lots of questions afterwards from the children.

If you are interested in hearing more about Mark Agnew and his incredible endeavours, Cargilfield will soon be publishing the Cargilfield Talks podcast featuring Mark Agnew as our first guest in 2024.

Stay tuned!
