P1 visited the Kelpies as part of their topic about explorers. They were looking at traditional, historical ways of moving from one location to another. Then on Tuesday P1 visited the Falkirk Wheel to learn more about canals and sailing on barges. They saw the wheel pick up barges and deposit them in a different area of the canal. They saw the locks in action, filling with water to let barges through to sail away. The children played in a Falkirk Wheel-themed splash park and had so much fun pouring, turning, sploshing and paddling. Everyone had a great time and they are plotting to find a way to pay Mrs Parker back for drenching them all with buckets of water!
