A keen group of children were able to explore the beautiful scenery surrounding Cargilfield today during Outdoor Adventure. We worked in pairs navigating their way to Cramond beach on foot, using an OS Map, practising using distance pacing. Once on the beach we carried a little pick, collecting several full bags of mainly plastic rubbish. We then walked back along the River Almond, examining the weirs and their fish passes, learning about the importance of these for the river ecosystem. In total we walked nearly 4 miles and returned to school nicely tired!
