P2 habitat hunting in the grounds of Lauriston Castle. P2 had a fabulous trip to the beautiful grounds of Lauriston Castle. The blossoms were in full bloom and the sun was trying to break through an otherwise overcast sky. A perfect morning for habitat hunting! Armed with iPads the children worked in teams to take photos of as many interesting habitats as they could find in a woodland habitat. Much to our excitement we discovered lots of animals inhabiting their homes including some woodlice, some centipedes, even a newt was fished out of the pond! We had fun wandering through tunnels of trees and running along the waterfall beds. We clambered over rocks and jumped across stepping stones, finally resting under the shade of some beautiful cherry trees in the Japanese garden. Our eyes were opened to the wonders of nature, and we decided that being outdoors was the most peaceful and fun place to be!
