Cargilfield STEM Day 2025

Forms 6, 7, and 8 threw themselves into a brilliant day of discovery, design, and innovation as part of our annual STEM Day. With the theme “STEM All Around”, pupils were challenged to invent something that could improve life at home, at school, or at play.Working in teams of six, the children researched real-world problems, brainstormed potential solutions, and chose one idea to develop. 

The rest of the day was spent building prototypes, testing designs, and preparing their final presentations.Each Division selected a winning team to go through to the grand final, where our panel of judges evaluated their ideas on Relevance, Creativity & Innovation, STEM Thinking, and Presentation.

From clever classroom gadgets to time-saving household tools and imaginative outdoor creations, the ideas on show were nothing short of inspiring.Teamwork, imagination, determination, and a good dose of laughter were the true highlights of the day—and proof that the spirit of STEM is alive and well at Cargilfield!
