3rdXI Cricket v Fettes

3rdXI Cricket v Fettes

A tough game for the intrepid 3rds!

Lost by 7 wickets

Cargilfield lost the toss and were chosen to bat first. We began the innings in strong fashion and formed a solid opening partnership. Runs came quickly and freely. Unfortunately as the match progressed, we lost quite a few easy wickets with shots straight up into the air and also some good straight bowling. We were all bowled out for 79 runs. In the second innings, we came up against a strong batting team. From the start, they showed us that they were good at placing their shots and running between the wickets.

It was a struggle to keep the run rate down but I was pleased with the small amount of extras that we gave away. Fettes were able to reach the total of 80 runs to win the match comfortably. Man of the match goes to Ramsay, who batted well and also got two wickets.

In training, we will be working on placing our shots and focusing in the field to maximise and minimise the amount of runs scored respectively.

Good effort, boys!
