U10 Rugby beat Merchiston

Lots of tries!

<p><strong>Won by 9 tries to 6</strong></p>
<p>On a rather sunny afternoon the U10’s took on Merchiston at home. The boys had worked hard in the run up to the game and I was pleased with their focus. The game started of fairly even with both sides having possession and scoring and then vice versa. However, in the second half Cargilfield started to steal the ball from the opposition more and scored quite a few quick tries, which gave us a healthy lead. I was pleased with the boys’ attacking play; they worked as a unit, supporting each other and make sure they used the space available. Their tackling was very good, which they followed up with the determined pursuit of the next player and this pushed the opposition back by twenty to thirty yards each time. An area I would like them to work on for their next match is to be aware of the defensive space they need to close down when the opposition have the ball.</p>
