On a beautiful sunny afternoon the third 11 travelled to Fettesin the hope of continuing their unbeaten run. Having lost the toss Cargilfiled were asked to bat. Openers Ed Macquaker and Leo Pike put on 29 for the first wicket but struggled to dominate the Fettes opening bowlers. Josh McLeod and Mungo Forbes-Cable came together shortly afterwards and formed a great partnership, both hitting the boundary on 4 occasions, before Mungo was run out for 17 and Josh caught and bowled for 24. Adley Ebeh added a further 14 runs to the total before being dismissed by opposition bowler Sandy, who then took wickets with his next two balls to claim a fine hatrick. Katie Henderson made her debut for the team at number 11 and batted resolutely alongside Rowan Findlay to bring the innings to a close with Cargilfield having scored 150 for 9.
With a total of 150 to defend Katie Henderson and Rosanna Walker opened the bowling. Both conceded only two runs from their two overs with Rosanna claiming two fine wickets with her first six deliveries. Both Mungo Forbes-Cable and Joshua McLeod took one wicket and a splendid catch each. Other wickets were taken by Edward Macquaker,2, and Jaime Ramos Montero. Edward CS gave another confident performance as wicket keeper. In the end due to some excellent performances in the field Cargilfield proved to be too strong for Fettes and ran out comfortable winners by 43 runs.
