1st Girls beat Fettes

1st Girls beat Fettes

A good game of hockey!

The girls travelled across to our neighbours at Fettes for our second game of the season.  We knew it would be a stiffer test today after last week and we looked a little nervous at the start of the match.  Fettes also looked a little nervy but after about 5 mins, the play settled and both teams began to play a bit better.  Saphira had an early goal disallowed but the girls kept at it and we won the ball and a short corner.  A straight strike from Sophie started the scoring and the play was pretty much in our attacking half for the most of the half.  The Fettes defence were good and they held solid, keeping us out.  Izzy found the back of the net not long before half time and we finished the half 2-0 up.

Fettes were keen to score but Emma and Clemmie worked hard and kept them out. Flora battled hard to get the ball wide and we managed to get the ball through to Sophie who scored with a reverse strike.  Caitlin was put under a bit of pressure towards the end but kept the Fettes girls out and the match finished 3-0 to Cargilfield.
