Having played in a magnificent match, which drew 12-12, last week against the same opposition, Cargilfield returned to the field of battle with reinforcements and threw down the gauntlet once more.
The contest started as an even fight but we found ourselves a player down quite quickly and had to soldier on with a numerical disadvantage. We scouted the opposition’s strengths and weakness within the first five minutes and then went for the jugular. It became apparent quite quickly that we were the stronger side, which allowed us to play our natural game. I was really pleased with how Cargilfield played as a unit and supported each other; each player that made a break had comrades supporting them on each side. In defence, we dug into our trenches and for the most part did not allow the opposition much room to manoeuvre in. Our tackling got better and better as the contest progressed.
Really well done, boys!
