U10 Girls beat Loretto

U10 Girls beat Loretto

Lots of goals and skill on show

We played two matches against the one Loretto team; although we managed it so that we played each first half first so that one of our teams was not standing on the sidelines for too long.  It turned out we were playing 7 a side so everyone ended up playing in all the four 15-minute periods which kept them moving!  There was lots of good hockey on show and all the girls have shown significant improvement since the last time we played this side at Cargilfield earlier in the term.

Jacqueline scored in the first attack of the afternoon with a well struck shot.  It was a very close game before an impressive hat trick from Natasha who played up front in the second half and a final goal from Dulcie gave us a 5-2 victory.  Tunrayo was definitely doing a lot of the defensive work but Julia and Lyla played important roles in the wider areas which allowed us to pull the Loretto defence out of place.

In the second game, Jessica covered most of the ground with another impressive display but Athena opened the scoring after a hard shot at the goal – nothing more was expected!  Emilia defended well and Rowan played out wide and came into the midfield to make some good tackles.  Tessa was a terrier in midfield in the second half after an impressive defensive display in the first.  We won the game 3-1 thanks to a good all-round team performance.

Well played, girls!
