What a lovely day for rounders! Fettes captain Elizabeth won the toss and elected to field first. Our captain Athena went into bat, hit the ball well and scored an impressive rounder. Emily repeated this super performance with a lovely hit and our second rounder. What a positive start to our game! Ceci and Scarlett also hit well and scored with Athena running for Scarlett due to a pulled muscle. We do need to work on our batting however as several of the girls missed the ball altogether. We still managed 6 off 16 balls for the first innings.

Fettes also had some super hitters, in particular Jess and Pari but Elizabeth and Lottie also hit well. Thalia was very strong on backstop delivering fast accurate balls to Athena on second post. Our fielding is improving and we got 2 girls out. We held Fettes to 3 rounders. Time allowed for a second innings of 10 balls. We scored a further 4 with Thalia and Eva scoring good half rounders. Fettes only managed a further 1 ½ with another superb hit from Pari. Ceci and Lottie worked very hard to get Arabella out on fourth. It was good effort from Cargilfield and a comprehensive win. All the girls enjoyed their game of rounders and we allowed Fettes to hit 6 extra balls to finish off a fine afternoon.
