U13B Hockey drew with Craigclowan

Four goals a piece!

With parents watching from the sidelines, Cargilfield U13Bs played Craigclowan at home this week. Although Craigclowan were the first to score, Amalia and Bea each responded with a goal by the end of the first quarter. These two dominated the attack with good passing as they benefitted from the support of Sophia and the wall of defenders. However, the early lead meant that the girls played passively in the second quarter, allowing Craigclowan to score and control possession. The half-time interval gave the girls a chance to regroup and they went to play in a more competitive manner throughout the second half – notably, Emilia Smith who led the defenders well. However, despite this change in attitude and a few additional goals, the momentum Craigclowan gained in the second quarter meant that they were also able to add to the scoreboard. The final result was 4-4, the girls’ closest game this season but by no means a score to be disappointed with.
