2^nd XI Cricket vs St Mary’s

What a day it was for a game of cricket. The sun was shinning and the boys were very keen to get out in the middle and play. We won the toss and elected to bat. After a slow but steady start to the game we eventually started to see the ball a bit better and started scoring more freely. We had a good opening partnership of 53 by Thabo N and Cameron G. After losing a couple of wickets Chay came in and steadied the ship with a great knock of 52 not out. Securing his half century on the final ball of the innings. We ended up with a very respectful total of 146/4 after our 20 overs.

After tea we came out strong and had St Mary’s 2 down in the first over thanks top Arthur C. Unfortunately to took our feet off the gas and got a little complacent in the field and with our bowling giving away 39 extras. So, there is definitely an area we need to work on.

We could not take the last couple of wickets and were able to keep St Mary’s to 83/8 off our 20 overs. Well done on a very good win!!
