An excellent game of cricket

U9 Boys Cricket v St Mary’s

On a warm, sunny afternoon, we welcome our pals from Melrose and enjoyed a fine game of softball cricket.

The Melrose captain won the toss and chose to field first. Our boys did us proud with the bat, scoring runs when they were available and hitting some terrific shots. Best innings to William and Teddy whose calling and running between the wickets was brilliant. Shots of the day went to Jaime, who smashed a bunch of boundaries from his overs. In the end we scored 82 runs.

When we went in to field, the organisation and energy in the field was impressive. We bowled very accurately and our fielding was sharp. Johnny took a wonderful catch and there were some super runouts, notably from Wilf and Seb. In the end, our boys managed to restrict the St Mary’s batters to 34 runs.

Well played, boys.
