U11A Girls cricket beat Ardvreck

A super team performance!

U11A Ardvreck v Cargilfield

Win 156-201

The clouds parted on a grey day for the U11As’ match against Ardvreck. After a late arrival, we headed straight into the match without a warm up. This made no difference to Val and Isla C as they opened the batting with plenty of runs, including a six each. This high standard was maintained by the rest of the team throughout the innings with Isla G’s four into the parents’ picnic deserving a mention. The girls really showed their enjoyment for batting and hunger for runs to finish with a score of 201 runs.

The success of batting gave the girls confidence going into the field. Their bowling was tight and Thalia’s wicket-maiden (including two other close catches) exhibited the best of U11As. The girls’ fielding was energetic and there was an impressive boundary saved by Savannah. Nonetheless, Ardvreck played well for their 156 but fell short of the target – well done girls!
